rwrylsin: Lego Lisa (fuzzy bee)

On my lunchtime walk yesterday I found the swan nest empty. With a mix of trepidation and excitement I strode along the canal looking for them, soon finding the whole family swimming contentedly further down the canal.
So today when the rain clouds cleared I went back with my camera, and the swans kindly hopped off their nest and swam over to my side of the canal to let me take some closer shots of the cute little grey fuzzballs with beaks. More photos in the scrapbook Spring gallery.

Wow, the third nice day in a row. Sunny, low 20's, wind not cold. I only have three short-sleeved work shirts, probably just as well a change is due tomorrow or I'd have to ignore the newly reinstated dress code.

I've been taking extra long walks at lunchtimes, exploring the canal further down than I normally go while soaking up the sun. Found the swans, they've built their nest under a tree down there and look very content.
Normally I have this walk mostly to myself, but with the sunshine oodles of people have emerged to walk, cycle, and bask on every available grassy bank. I no longer regard this behaviour as strange. There have also been some brave optimists fishing in the canal.
The last two mornings I've been catching the express train to Dalmuir after missing the one via Singer. Walking back a station isn't noticeably quicker than waiting for the next train would have been, but they've been such nice mornings for a walk.
Spring has definitely sprung. The trees are finally green again, or pink or white in the case of the blossoming ones. Some photos shortly.

A few weeks like this during the summer will make me a happy little aussie. I'll buy more shirts.
