Life Catch-Up

I have my new glasses! At the moment I feel like I'm looking through a letterbox (they're much smaller than the old ones) but I'm sure I'll get used to it... Except possibly for having to tilt my whole head to look at the keyboard through them instead of being able to just glance down...
Returned home later than expected on Friday - missed my check-in by about 10 minutes despite much rushing between trains, so got all sweaty for nothing. Probably just as well, turns out that Heathrow is insane at 5pm, possibly exacerbated by the security check being more thorough than usual. The lines from the domestic and international departure checks wound out into the check-in hall and ran into each other with ensuing confusion and chaos for all. Happily I was placed on the next flight to Glasgow with no trouble.
I retreated to my favourite Terminal 1 restaurant for a steak dinner and pudding while I recovered and waited for the later flight. Wandered through security which now had a much shorter line, and on to my flight which was mostly empty. No fear of my chocolate eggs being crushed in the overhead locker, I had it all to myself.
On the weekend my jet-setting lifestyle caught up with me. After a shortish walk looking for a laundromat (closed on a Saturday afternoon?) (Our washing machine is broken) I was ready to curl up and sleep again. Watched David tackle some hand-washing instead, and poked at household tasks in a half-hearted way. Sunday was much the same but with a visit to the gym.
We're now on British Summer Time. I thought I would be reporting on some irony of still getting snow, but apparently the weather has taken the hint and we're now forecast to get a run of days with double-digit temperatures (and rain). It feels so warm...
And I finally seem to be rid of that persistent cough. Now I'm sneezing a sniffling a lot. Not sure if it's a new phase or an entirely new disease.
Back at work now and feeling rather more competent than I have been lately. Will be desk shuffling soon. Joy! I will have a window seat! If one ignores the carpark then the view is quite pretty from here.
