Ms2 Update

So far behind, where to start?
Ms2 is growing like a weed, and developing at an explosive rate.
She now utters such sentences as “I can do it” “I did it!” “Want feets rub” and “More toast please. Thank you.” She gets frustrated when I can’t figure out what she’s saying, but we’re both getting better at communicating.
She did not really cooperate for her 2 year measurements with the health nurse, but she is continuing to track around 95% on the growth curves. Aprox 14kg, and 92cm high. She is mostly wearing size 3’s and 4’s, trending back to 3's as she is starting to lose the baby fat.
Swinging is big thing for her right now. Not sitting on a swing, being lifted so her legs can swing freely. She wants to be picked up under the arms, but failing that will lean her arms on dad’s legs or a handy bench to get her feet off the ground. She's going to get some good upper body strength at this rate.
She is also trying very hard to hop. At the moment her foot isn’t quite leaving the ground, but she’s getting close.
She’s having fun building houses at the moment. Big ones for her and her teddies to sit in, or little ones out of blocks for her toy people.
She also likes puzzles, which makes me happy since I am also a puzzle person. She has peg puzzles sorted and is willing to have a god go at getting shaped pieces together.
Cats are still a thing, although owls and foxes are now also acceptable decoration on clothing, and she likes bows. One morning she grabbed on to the word leggings and insisted on wearing some. So under her strict instructions she ended up in starry leggings and a dress with a bow on it. She had lots to talk about with the carers when she got to childcare and was quite upset when I couldn’t produce another garment with a bow the following day.
She has now adopted Mr5’s old childcare bag. She has figured out how to put it on her back herself, and gets very upset if I help. Today she insisted on taking it to childcare, so I guess I’d better move her name tag from her old bag to this one.
Nap times are currently going well. If I let her run around a bit after lunch and regularly suggest it is nap time, she eventually decides that it is in fact time for a nap, and virtually puts herself down for a sleep. She does however usually need resettling mid-nap to get a proper rest.
Night sleep also requires at least one resettling on most nights. We look forward to her being able to pull her blankets back over herself. Some mornings she is up early and climbs into our bed for a bit.
Molars are still a work in progress, although I'm pretty sure I felt one out last time I applied Bonjela (while having my finger painfully bitten...)
Apparently her evening routine with me is different to with dad. He reports that she tends to hand him lots of books but not want to actually read much of them. It was my turn recently, during which she rummaged through the bookshelf for a particular book (but accepted others when she couldn’t find it), and snuggled up to listed to it all the way through twice. Sometimes she makes me put books away early, but not often these days.
After the reading she pulled her foam swords out and fencing ensued. She is tall enough now that if I’m sitting on the floor she is taller than me. When I told her it was time to get into bed, she put down her sword, strode over to look down on me, nose to nose, big eyes holding mine, and said very firmly “More. Swords.” Then toddled back to pick up her sword and come on guard again.
So proud.
Have convinced her that Duplo is cool really, she doesn't have to use the big kids lego like her brother (and he is happy to play with duplo as well). Here she is sliding her duplo family down a slide before returning them to the house she has built them.
