Back from the Beach
Feb. 1st, 2009 12:26 amAfter roaming around looking at houses this afternoon (and getting a little sunned), joining some friends at the beach seemed a very good idea.
We drove down to Edithvale, arriving ahead of everyone else at 6:30pm. So we staked out a bit of beach and David ran up a kite to help them find us.
Amazingly, this was the first time we've actually visited a Melbourne beach. It was very nice, aside from the cigarette butts. Apparently a beach is just a giant ashtray to some people. Quite a few people around, but not badly crowded.
Once the friends arrived most of us headed into the water and threw a tennis all around for an hour or so. The water was lovely and warm, the sea breeze a nice break from the heat of the last few days.
After emerging from the water, some of us wandered up to a nearby fish & chip shop, bringing dinner back to the beach to be eaten in the fading light.
Drove back, stopping along the way to say hello to cats and play a board game.
Now time for bed I think.
