35.5 weeks, 32 days from the due date
Mar. 5th, 2012 12:13 pmToday's visit to the Ob was largely just confirmation of what I already suspected.
My blood pressure is back up to near-normal levels at 120/70, which is good and what it's supposed to be doing. I figured it must have gone up a bit because I'm feeling better than I was a couple of weeks ago (when I was still 120/60).
Bub has dropped head-first down into my pelvis. Again, I could feel it so this wasn't a surprise. For a first pregnancy this doesn't mean much, but I suspect Bub won't be particularly late in putting in an appearance.
It does make moving around a lot more like hard work. I think he's not permanently in that position yet though, some days I seem to have him higher and can move about pretty easily, days like today I can't bend over at all, and there are other effects most of you probably don't particularly want to know about.
The Ob is also quite bemused at my "tight tummy". I think he is referring to the fact that by abdominal muscles seem to be stubbornly refusing to be separated. He doesn't seem worried by it, just says maybe it means I'll regain my figure more quickly after birth. Not something I'm overly concerned about, but I guess it would be handy.
The nursery and our bedroom have now been painted (and we're sleeping in the guest room until the fumes dissipate). David has promptly filled the nursery with boxes of Ikea destined for the lounge, so I cannot yet indulge in nesting behaviour.
At the current rate downstairs should be pretty much done this week and we can start getting organised.
