rwrylsin: Lego Lisa (Parasole)
It's warm and sunny, the daffodils and heather are still blooming. It's also the middle of the school holidays and the Easter long weekend looms.
Apparently yesterday everyone in the greater Glasgow area spontaneously thought "what a lovely day, let's go shopping!" and converged on Buchannon Street. The place was crawling with people. Swarming. Seething even. It's days like that when you realise just how many people can be hidden away in all those tenement blocks.
Today promises to be more of the same, a steady stream of suitcases migrating to and from the train stations with their humans in tow. I am torn between seeking out the sunshine and hiding from the crowds.

Hopefully this bodes well for a nice summer, particularly since we have vague plans to stay relatively local and catch up on visiting the Highlands, Islands, and possible Ireland.

In other travel news, Aus fencing are letting me enter a couple more A-grades. So I've been frantically making travel arrangements for Belgium (Ghent) and Germany (Koblenz) on successive weekends in May.
But before I get carried away with that, I have Birmingham this weekend. Driving down tomorrow. Next weekend we get to stay home for the Glasgow Open.
I wonder what I'll do with my weekends next season, when I'm not flitting off to fencing competitions all the time...

Saturday 28th April

12ish? - Sample the Dim Sum at New Loon Fung. (They do steaks & stuff for people who don't fancy chinese food)

Afterward

Option A - Head back to our place for an afternoon of games, possibly ordering in dinner if people stick around long enough. Including, but not limited to, Munchkin, Gloom, 500, Arkham Horror, Settlers of Catan, Go, and possibly Ninja Burger or Kobolds Ate My Baby if anyone is interested in some light-weight role-playing.

Option B - As for option A, but if the weather is as nice as today we go to Kelvingrove park and find a nice spot to play games, juggle, hackey-sack, or otherwise enjoy the sunshine.

Cake will probably be involved at some point.

What do you think? Any Glaswegians (or non-weegies who happen to be in Glasgow at the time) fancy helping me celebrate the successful completion of my 3rd decade in such a manner?
