You Are 52% Open Minded

You are a very open minded person, but you're also well grounded.
Tolerant and flexible, you appreciate most lifestyles and viewpoints.
But you also know where you stand firm, and you can draw that line.
You're open to considering every possibility - but in the end, you stand true to yourself.

You Are Impressionism

You think the world is quite beautiful, especially if you look at it in new and interesting ways.
You tend to focus on color and movement in art.
For you, seeing the big picture is much more important than recording every little detail.
You can find inspiration anywhere... especially from nature.

It is January, and I am still healthy! No cold, no flu, no respiratory tract infection, nothing nasty at all!
I realise I've now asked for plague to strike me down, but I don't care. I thumb my nose at infectious and parasitical organisms.

Fafnir is still time-displaced. Investigations under the hard drive, and optical drive for good measure came to nought. My current theory is that there is only one battery, but I need a PRAM/PMU refresh to fix things properly. Problem is that I just can't find any useful doco for my particular iMac version.
The alt-apple-P-R combo seems to be generally used to do the PRAM. Tried that, it sounded like it worked, but didn't look like it once things restarted. No joy. For the PMU I tried the mac-mini method because the lamp-shade iMacs have a hardware method which isn't going to transfer to completely different hardware. It made a scary beep noise but otherwise no effect, good or bad. For the time being I'm just going to ignore it in a pointed fashion.

In a post-xmas buying frenzy, I will soon own the complete series of Danger Mouse box set, courtesy of a good price on play.com. I've also received the complete series of Andromeda via eBay. If I'm going to watch silly sci-fi shows then I can at least watch one that amuses me without having to provide my own running commentary.

Speaking of amusement, on TV last night a newspaper was advertising a free "User Guide to the Brain" insert. Fools, don't they know that nobody ever reads the manual?

[livejournal.com profile] davidcook and I are off to Egypt for a few days in a couple of weeks. Cairo to be specific.

The following weekend I'll be taking the BAF sabre coaching exam. (Level 1, Level 2 at the same time if they think I'm ready, which it sounds like they do). Need to get in some practice for that.

Weekend after that is the A-grade in London. Have I mentioned yet that I'm insane? Physically well, but clearly nuts.
David is supposed to do Slough on the same weekend. We're not sure how that will work yet.

Then I get a couple of weeks break before Redemption. I have serious doubts about the Dark Helmet costume being finished by then. Might need to find another use for it. I'll keep trying though.

I've also started work on another Foiling Around. Don't hold your breath for that one though.
