Glasgow Open
Apr. 3rd, 2006 12:29 pmSaturday morning we were up painfully early in order to get organised and arrive at the venue for the Glasgow Open by 7:30am. There we fetched, carried and taped down pistes, finishing the job just in time for the 9:30 start of the Men's Epee.
( Glasgow Open, blow by blow account )
On Sunday we went back in the afternoon to help pull up the tape and clear the venue. Our good deed was well repaid when, as the GWEFCers debated which pub to go to, the organiser passed us a generous amount of cash for a round of drinks. This actually became a round of drinks and a table full of snackfood (potato wedges, garlic bread and onion rings) since we'd all worked up an appetite. The only thing saving us from a very late night there in the blissfully smoke-free pub was that everyone was also very tired. So we did get home for dinner in time, theoretically, for David to have an early night before starting the early shift at work this morning.
