The day started with me in a rather bad mood. I woke from weird dreams that ended with me and David running to catch a flight and left me feeling tired out before I began. Unaccountably the morning also had a feel of summer, and I bitterly resented being forced to go to work. Apparently I'd left my jumper at work the day before and completely failed to notice, which led to much cursing as I searched for it and ran late for my train.
However the universe was conspiring to cheer me up. The train ran exactly as late as me so I caught it without waiting, there was still pretty snow at work, nice ripe fruit in the basket for a change, a recruiter called to ask if I would be interested in a job he had, and the developers didn't bother me all day. I resisted, but it's hard to remain cranky with so much good fortune. (The job is in Greenock, which on consideration I think I don't want to commute to.)
Then tonight was the beginners course, which never fails to improve my mood. I particularly enjoy it on nights like tonight when there are small numbers, so if a pair are finding a drill easy I get the chance to increase the difficulty and try to build a little tactical work into it. Tonight was extra fun when we had the beat-attack practice. ( smug rambling )
